Academics is seeking an experienced and organised Senior Science Technician to join a thriving secondary school in the Buckinghamshire area. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Science Technician to play a key role in supporting the Science Department and ensuring the smooth delivery of practical lessons.

As a Senior Science Technician, you will:

  • Prepare, set up, and maintain equipment and materials for Science lessons.
  • Support teachers and students during practical experiments.
  • Lead and coordinate the work of Science Technicians where required.
  • Ensure laboratories and preparation areas are safe, organised, and fully stocked.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment, chemicals, and resources.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Senior Science Technician or Science Technician in a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and health and safety practices.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience supporting Biology, Chemistry, and Physics practicals is desirable.
