Are you a caring, enthusiastic, and qualified Early Years Practitioner looking for flexible opportunities across Barnsley? Academics is recruiting dedicated early years professionals with a Level 3 childcare qualification (CACHE Diploma, BTEC, NVQ, or Early Years Education apprenticeship) and Paediatric First Aid training to support welcoming nurseries and early years settings throughout Barnsley. These positions are available on a temporary, ongoing basis, with opportunities for long-term and permanent placements for the right candidates.
As an Early Years Practitioner in Barnsley, you will support the development of children aged 0-5, helping to create a positive, stimulating, and nurturing environment where children can thrive. You will contribute to the delivery of engaging EYFS activities, support children's learning and development, and ensure their wellbeing and safety throughout the day. This role is ideal for a Level 3 qualified practitioner who enjoys working in different early years settings while maintaining flexibility around their schedule.
Key Responsibilities- Support children's learning and development in line with the EYFS framework
- Assist with planning and delivering engaging age-appropriate activities
- Encourage communication, independence, and social interaction
- Supervise indoor, outdoor, and mealtime activities
- Support children's personal care where required
- Apply safeguarding and welfare procedures at all times
- Utilise Paediatric First Aid knowledge when necessary
- Work effectively with nursery staff, room leaders, and parents
- Level 3 childcare qualification (CACHE, BTEC, NVQ, or equivalent)
- Paediatric First Aid certificate (required for newer qualifications)
- Good understanding of the EYFS framework and safeguarding requirements
- Caring, patient, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
