Academics are currently recruiting for a qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Aylesbury from September 2026. We are keen to hear from experienced HLTAs, teaching assistants looking to progress, or qualified teachers seeking a role with less responsibility and a better work-life balance, while still making a meaningful impact in the classroom.

As a HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, leading lessons where required, delivering interventions, and helping pupils reach their full potential. This is a high-performing school with an excellent reputation and a strong track record of success.
Key Responsibilities
- Support teaching staff in delivering high-quality lessons across the primary age range.
- Lead whole-class teaching in the absence of the class teacher where appropriate.
- Deliver targeted intervention groups and provide additional support for pupils who need it.
- Contribute to the planning and preparation of engaging lessons.
- Support the assessment and monitoring of pupil progress.
- Help create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
- HLTA status or relevant qualifications and experience.
- Experience working within a primary school setting.
- A good understanding of the UK National Curriculum.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is welcomed, particularly for teachers looking for a role offering greater work-life balance and reduced planning and assessment responsibilities.
