Primary Support - Behaviour Mentor

- Supporting a KS1 pupil on a 1:1 basis

The Role:
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will provide dedicated 1:1 support to a KS1 pupil with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour. The role will involve helping the student engage positively within the classroom, encouraging emotional regulation, promoting positive behaviour strategies, and supporting both social and academic development.
You will work collaboratively with teaching staff, the Inclusion Manager, SENCO, and external professionals to provide tailored support that meets the pupil's individual needs.
Daily responsibilities may include:
- Providing 1:1 classroom and emotional support
- Supporting behaviour management strategies
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Encouraging engagement in learning activities
- Supporting emotional regulation and resilience
- Assisting with social interaction and communication skills
- Monitoring progress and providing feedback to staff
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
- Previous experience as a Behaviour Mentor, SEN TA, Youth Worker, or Support Worker
- A calm, patient, and adaptable approach
- The ability to remain resilient in challenging situations
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable students
- A proactive and positive attitude towards learning and development
