We are working with an excellent specialist school in Swindon that is looking for a compassionate Autism Support Assistant to join their brilliant team ASAP on a full-time basis. This school works with children and young people aged 3-18 with Severe Learning Disabilities (SLDs) and is passionate about providing top quality education that opens up their futures.

As an Autism Support Assistant, you will work closely with students, teachers and other education professionals to facilitate a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Information for an Autism Support Assistant:
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Hours: Full-time, 08:30-15:00 (Term-time only)
  • Pay: £85-£100 per day (dependent on experience)
  • Location: Swindon

A day as an Autism Support Assistant involves:

  • Providing individualized support in 1 to 1 and group settings
  • Encouraging and supporting communication skills
  • Supporting independence by facilitating a safe learning environment
  • Managing challenging behaviour and supporting emotional regulation
  • Liaising between parents and teachers to provide the best care possible

The role of an Autism Support Assistant is perfect for someone who:

  • Has excellent communication skills
  • Is organised, proactive, and can stay calm under pressure
  • Has a grade C/level 4 in GCSE (Or equivalent) Maths and English
  • Has previous experience working with children
  • Is genuinely passionate about supporting the development of children with Autism
