We are currently looking for a Science Teacher to join our amazing specialist school to start full time in September! This is a rewarding opportunity to teach science in a nurturing environment where every lesson has the power to build confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.
You will be working closely with children and young people with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) who have co-existing social, emotional and mental health needs. The students you support also have complex educational needs and communication difficulties. This school has amazing in-house resources to help you succeed in your role. They offer support in the form of psychologists, teaching assistants and therapy professionals, all working together to ensure that the students have what they need to succeed!
We are looking for a teacher who believes that every young person can achieve success with the right support.
You will:
- Plan and deliver engaging and accessible Science lessons
- Adapt teaching strategies and resources to meet individual learning needs
- Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Monitor, assess, and celebrate pupil progress using a personalised approach
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and the wider multidisciplinary team
- Contribute to EHCP targets and support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has experience teaching Science in a secondary setting
- Has a genuine passion for supporting young people with special educational needs
- Demonstrates patience, resilience, empathy, and a positive outlook
- SEN experience is desirable but not essential
