Academics are recruiting on behalf of a residential SEN school in Andover which caters for young people aged 11-19 years with a primary diagnosis of autism, complex needs and challenging behaviour. All young people have an EHCP. They are seeking a dynamic, committed, and creative Special Needs Teacher to join their dedicated team in September.

As a Special Needs Teacher, you will deliver engaging, adaptable lessons that build confidence, curiosity, and achievement in learners with additional needs across KS3 and KS4.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high‑quality teaching within Key Stage 3 or Key Stage 4.
  • Support students to achieve qualifications up to GCSE level.
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual EHCP outcomes.
  • Motivate and engage learners through inclusive, creative practice.
  • Provide meaningful feedback to accelerate progress and build confidence.
  • Contribute to enrichment and the wider life of the school.
  • Work collaboratively within a skilled and supportive team.
Qualifications
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching at KS3 and KS4.
  • Strong classroom management and a flexible, responsive teaching style.
  • A reflective practitioner committed to continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A genuine passion for working with young people with SEND.
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to whole‑school values.
  • Experience in curriculum development (desirable).
