Academics are recruiting on behalf of a residential SEN school in Andover which caters for young people aged 11-19 years with a primary diagnosis of autism, complex needs and challenging behaviour. All young people have an EHCP.
They are looking to appoint a passionate and engaging Maths Teacher with QTS to join them on a full-time contract starting in September. They currently have 38 students on roll. Class sizes are small, no more than 6 pupils in a class. This allows you to tailor your lessons to meet their individual learning needs. Students follow the National Curriculum and work towards taking GCSE's in year 11.
The successful Maths Teacher will be required to plan and deliver Maths lessons across the school. Experience of working in an SEN school would be an advantage, although not essential. You will however have experience of teaching children with SEN, ideally autism/Asperger's syndrome. The suitable Maths Teacher will be calm, empathetic, nurturing and able to build positive relationships.
The main school building in Andover is a large country house set in 8 acres of grounds which provide a beautiful and secure setting for outdoor activities. Ideally suited to a driver due to the rural location.
