A welcoming and inclusive specialist school is seeking a dedicated individual to join their team as a SEN Teaching Assistant. This is a full-time, long-term position.

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in education, child development, psychology, mental health, behaviour support, or care work. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support children and young people aged 5-16 with a range of additional needs including Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties, Speech, Language and Communication Needs, challenging behaviour and physical disabilities.

You will help:

  • Provide 1:1 support and small group interventions.
  • Support students with autism, communication needs, and emotional regulation.
  • Help manage behaviour using positive behaviour strategies, de-escalation techniques, and restorative approaches.
  • Support pupils with classroom learning, daily routines, and sensory activities.
  • Build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Help children develop social skills, confidence, independence and self-esteem.

The school are seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant who is compassionate, dedicated and passionate about working with SEN. Previous experience working with children or vulnerable adults would be beneficial but not essential.
