SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Maidstone, Kent Job Type: Full-Time Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm Start Date: October 2026 or January 2027 We are currently seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive mainstream primary school in Maidstone, Kent. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. The Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the wider school team to provide high-quality support to pupils with a range of additional needs. You will help pupils access the curriculum, develop their confidence and independence, and make positive progress both academically and socially. Key responsibilities include: Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN Supporting children across KS1 and KS2 Helping pupils access and engage with the curriculum Supporting children's social, emotional and behavioural development Implementing individual support strategies and learning plans Working closely with class teachers and SENCOs Promoting independence, confidence and positive learning behaviours Creating a safe, inclusive and encouraging learning environment About You We are looking for someone who: Has previous experience working with children with SEN Has experience supporting pupils across KS1 and KS2 Has experience working within a mainstream primary school Is patient, caring and understanding Can build positive relationships with children and staff Is confident supporting children with a range of additional needs Is reliable, proactive and adaptable Has a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development DBS Requirement A fully enhanced DBS check is required for this role. Applicants must either: Hold a fully enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or Be willing to apply for a new enhanced DBS check.
