A fantastic Secondary SEN School in Abingdon is looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and motivated Behaviour Support Worker to join their team. This role would suit graduates, aspiring teachers, those with experience working with young people, or anyone looking to build a career in education, behaviour support, and SEN.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support to students who may present with challenging or complex behaviour.
- Support small groups with activities in and outside the classroom.
- Work alongside teachers and SEN professionals to implement individual support plans.
- Support students with their learning, behaviour, emotional development, and wellbeing.
- Use positive behaviour strategies to encourage engagement and independence.
- Monitor, record, and report student progress and behaviour.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with students and act as a consistent role model.
- Gain valuable hands-on experience within a specialist SEN setting.
- Develop practical skills in behaviour management, communication, and supporting young people.
- Excellent experience for Psychology and Criminology graduates considering careers in education, youth work, psychology, or related fields.
- Work alongside experienced teachers, behaviour specialists, and SEN professionals.
- Full-time position with an ASAP start.
- Previous SEN or behaviour support experience is beneficial but not essential.
Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy.
