A fantastic Special Needs School in Trowbridge are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Autism Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as next week. In this role, you will work closely with one child who has a primary diagnosis of Autism, as well as other associated additional needs. This is an excellent opportunity for a Psychology Graduate or Teaching Assistant/Carer looking to further their experience with SEND.
As a 1:1 Autism Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the student, helping them engage in classroom activities and develop their independence. You will help the student build positive relationships with other pupils, and aid them with both their verbal and non-verbal communication. Finally, you may also assist the class teacher and offer additional support to other pupils when needed.
The school are looking for an enthusiastic and bubbly 1:1 Autism Teaching Assistant who has a passion for supporting children with special educational needs. A recent graduate would be perfect for this role, with a relevant degree in Psychology, Criminology or Sociology. Any experience working with Autism would be beneficial, this could be professional or personal experience. Empathy and flexibility are also important skills!
The school day runs from 8:30am to 3:15pm, and the school are looking for a 1:1 Autism Teaching Assistant who can work full time, Monday to Friday.
