Are you a patient, caring and enthusiastic individual with a passion for helping children thrive? We are looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with additional needs in Year 4 at a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Keighley.
About the Role:
You will be working closely with a bright and engaging child who requires support with emotional regulation, routine, and focused learning. Your role will involve implementing consistent strategies to support the child's individual needs and helping them to fully access the curriculum and develop positive relationships in school.
Working alongside the class teacher, SENCO, and wider staff team, you will help to create a safe and supportive environment where the child can feel confident and succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support during lessons, transitions, and unstructured times
- Use tailored strategies to promote engagement, confidence, and emotional wellbeing
- Support the child in understanding and following routines and expectations
- Adapt learning resources and activities to meet the child's individual needs
- Contribute to review meetings and help track the child's progress
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with children with additional needs in a school or similar setting
- A calm, consistent, and nurturing approach to behaviour and communication
- Ability to build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff
- A team player who can also work independently using initiative
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) are desirable but not essential
