Are you an experienced and resilient Key Stage 2 Teacher looking for a rewarding role within a specialist setting? A specialist SEMH school in Canterbury is seeking a dedicated Year 6 Teacher to lead a small class of pupils who benefit from a structured, nurturing and trauma‑informed approach to learning. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who values strong relationships, consistency and tailored support to help pupils succeed both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to a Year 6 class within a specialist SEMH setting
- Create a calm, structured and supportive classroom environment
- Work closely with support staff, pastoral teams and the SENCO to meet individual pupil needs
- Support pupils’ emotional regulation, confidence and readiness for transition
- Use positive behaviour strategies and consistent routines to promote learning
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds QTS and has experience teaching in KS2
- Confident adapting the curriculum to meet individual needs
- Strong classroom management with a calm and reflective approach
- Experience in SEMH, SEN or alternative provision is highly desirable
- Passionate about making a meaningful difference in a specialist setting
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) – Essential
£170 – £260 per day, Mon‑Fri, 08:30 to 15:30, PAYE, Term time only
