Academics LTD are currently working with this 2 form entry Primary school based in the borough of Westminster to recruit a SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team this February. This unusual role would be perfect for a graduate or an existing teaching assistant who is interested in developing their understanding of working with children with SEN ahead of further training to become a SEN or Primary Teacher or an Education Psychologist.

You do not need to have extensive experience in this area, as full training will be provided; however, you will need to demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for working with children with Special Educational Needs. Some experience working personally or professionally with children with SEN will be advantageous.

This SEN Teaching Assistant role will see you working with a range of children across Key Stage 1 and 2. You will be tasked to deliver small group interventions to children with a range of needs. You will need to think on your feet, adapt quickly to working with different age children, and have brilliant communication skills both written and oral. All planning will be prepared for you, and your job will be to deliver interventions and raise attainment while making learning fun and accessible for all.

This is a trusted job within the school, and you will need to be articulate and comfortable working under your own initiative in conjunction with the staff. Full training will be provided, but you will need to be a keen learner and ready to put your newfound skills into practice.
