Mainstream Primary School in Tewkesbury is seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to start ASAP. This role is dedicated to making a positive difference for children with challenging behaviour and Special Educational Needs (SEND). The successful candidate will support pupils across the Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2.

You will play a key role in helping children regulate emotions, build positive behaviour, and fully engage with their learning. Academics Ltd is looking for someone with experience or a strong interest in supporting children with behavioural needs. The role involves delivering 1:1 and small-group support, working collaboratively with teaching staff to promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and personal development.

  • Salary: £85 - £100 per day (depending on experience)
  • Working hours: Full-time, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm (Term time only)
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to children with challenging behaviour and SEND, helping them to regulate their emotions and engage in learning.
  • Implement tailored behaviour management strategies to support children in overcoming behavioural challenges.
  • Work with teachers and staff to foster a calm, supportive, and structured learning environment.
  • Assist in managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours in a positive, proactive way.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO, teachers, and parents to create and review personalised plans for each child.
  • Support children during lessons, breaks, and other activities to ensure their emotional well-being and safety.
