SEN School & Alternative Provision – Portsmouth, Hampshire
Full-Time | Ongoing Contracts | Potential for Permanent Placement
Academics are currently recruiting for a Team Teach Trained Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN School and Alternative Provision in Portsmouth. The setting supports students across Key Stages 3 and 4 with a range of needs, including social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties, developmental challenges, and medical conditions.
The school is looking for strong, resilient, and empathetic individuals who are available to start immediately on full-time, ongoing contracts—with the option for permanent roles for the right candidates.
* Team Teach, PRICE, or equivalent behaviour intervention training is essential (or willingness to undertake training)
* Experience supporting children or young people with challenging behaviours, preferably within an SEN or SEMH setting
* Ability to work with students 1:1 and in small groups
* Strong communication skills, emotional resilience, and a calm, professional approach
