About the Role
Are you a Team Teach–trained Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and behavioural challenges?
We’re currently working with a specialist SEN school in Hounslow that provides a nurturing environment for students with Autism (ASC), SEMH, and additional learning needs.
You’ll play a key role in providing 1:1 and small group support, helping students develop confidence, emotional regulation, and independence through positive behaviour strategies.
Responsibilities
- Support students with behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties (BESD/SEMH)
- Implement behaviour support plans and Team Teach de-escalation techniques
- Provide 1:1 and small group interventions to promote engagement and progress
- Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management
- Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
- Monitor and record students’ progress, behaviour, and development
Requirements
- Team Teach certification (essential)
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN or behavioural needs
- A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
