If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!, We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant (SEMH) to join a secondary SEMH school in Liverpool on a temporary, supply basis through Academics. In this role, you will work closely with individual students who require additional support due to SEMH challenges and behavioural difficulties. As a Teaching Assistant (SEMH), your primary focus will be to provide tailored support that promotes their academic progress, emotional well-being, and personal development., * Provide 1:1 support to students with SEMH needs, helping them engage positively with their learning.

Implement strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour in line with the school’s behaviour policies.

Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCO, and other professionals to create a supportive and inclusive environment.

Support the emotional and social development of students, promoting self-regulation and resilience.

Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour, feeding back to the relevant staff.

Experience working with students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour (in a school or similar setting).

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.

An understanding of behaviour management strategies and a proactive approach to supporting students.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable:

Relevant qualifications in Education, SEN, or Childcare.
