A Special Needs School in Abingdon is looking for a number of Teaching Assistants to support their pupils on a flexible, part-time basis. This is an ideal opportunity for University Students seeking valuable experience in the field of special education, psychology or graduates considering a future in teaching.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one support to children with special needs in both the classroom and extracurricular settings.
  • Help students with communication, social skills and confidence.
  • Support pupils with a range of needs including Autism, Developmental Delay, Speech & Language Difficulties and Social, Emotional and Mental Health Challenges.
  • Bring a patient, non-judgemental, proactive approach and a positive energy to the classroom.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Passion for working with children with additional needs; strong communication and interpersonal skills; patience and empathy.
  • Positive, bubbly and proactive attitude.
  • Previous experience with children is beneficial; any professional or personal experience with additional needs is advantageous.

  • Role: Teaching Assistant
  • Hours: Part Time & Flexible Working
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 08:30am to 15:30pm
  • Location: Abingdon
  • Salary: £85-£95 per day
