Are you passionate about supporting children in their learning and development? Academics is working closely with primary schools across Barry and the Vale of Glamorgan to find enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to provide both 1:1 support and general classroom assistance.
This is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to make a real difference in children\’s education while gaining valuable experience across a range of schools and year groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support for pupils with additional learning needs (ALN)
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities
- Support small groups of pupils to reinforce learning
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment
- Assist with classroom management and behaviour support
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff
Minimum Requirements
- Previous experience working with children (school or childcare setting desirable)
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- A caring, patient, and adaptable approach
- Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service or willing to apply)
- Two professional references
