Teaching Assistant for Trauma Impacted Looked After Children Are you passionate and driven to improve the lives and prospects of children who have experienced trauma and adverse childhood experiences (ACE)? Do you have experience of supporting pupils with Social Emotional Mental Health needs? Are you confident in working with Looked After Children (LAC) and those in the care system? Have you ever working in a residential support worker role? The Job Working in a school for Looked After Children who have experienced childhood trauma or ACE, your role will be classroom support. Helping the children to thrive in an educational setting, you will support them with a therapeutic approach to behaviour management, and teaching and learning. The school supports children from Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3, and Key Stage 4, and offers a full curriculum. Helping the children in a pastoral manner will be key- your role will be to help them to engage with their education, whilst maintaining healthy emotional regulation and mental health. You’ll Be A Qualified Teaching Assistant or Residential Support Worker with experience of young people with SEMH, autism, ADHD, or other needs. Experienced working with pupils with challenging behaviour and those who have experienced trauma Able to hold student attention and focus with excellent communication skills Promote happiness, self-reliance and encourage positive interactions We’re Academics!
