Overview
Learning Support – Teaching Assistant – Autism – PERMANENT
Location: East Grinstead | Contract: PERM | Salary: £23,000 to £25,000 per annum
Opportunity at a small independent day school for pupils with autism. We provide specialised teaching for Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form pupils, aged 4 to 19, who have an autistic diagnosis.
The aim was to provide a highly specialised approach to meet each pupil’s individual and autism specific needs within the social setting of a school.
Approach and Programmes
The defining aspect of our school is individualised programmes for each pupil throughout the school day based on behavioural analysis and other complementary methods including:
- Speech and Language Therapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Total communication approach
- Attention Autism
- A range of Augmentative Communication (AAC) methods, including: topic boards, talking mats, hi tech devices, sign, Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS)
