A wonderfully led and resourced Primary School in Stanford-le-Hope is seeking a passionate Teaching Assistant to join after the February half-term on a full-time basis to work with children who have additional needs and require nurturing and support to make their school experience as positive as possible.

Role details

Teaching Assistant — Stanford-le-Hope, Essex | Mainstream Primary School | February 2026 start (after half term) | Long-term contract with the view to going permanent | 88-100 per day (DOE) | Term Time Only (Monday – Friday 8:30am-3:30pm) | Parking available | Great education and training opportunities

This primary school is located in Stanford-le-Hope with excellent transport links and there is also a staff car park for those who drive.

Responsibilities

  • Support children with additional needs (SEN) 1:1 and in small groups
  • Assist with planning of activities with class teacher and SENCO
  • Help with general classroom duties as a Teaching Assistant
  • Be a positive role model, offering encouragement and promoting confidence
  • Support delivery of activities and learning as directed by the class teacher

Experience & Qualifications

Experience of supporting any of the following needs would be an advantage:

  • ADHD
  • Autism (ASD)
  • Asperger Syndrome
  • Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH)
  • Global Delay
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
  • Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
  • Challenging Behaviour

The ideal Teaching Assistant would:

  • Have a genuine passion for working with children with SEN
  • Be driven to improve the education and life chances of children and young people
  • Be able to support pupils 1:1 and in small groups
  • Be a positive role model and offer encouragement that promotes confidence
  • Assist with planning of activities with the class teacher and SENCO
  • Help with general classroom duties
