SEND Teaching Assistant Buckinghamshire Salary: Competitive Timeplan is currently working with a large SEND school in Buckinghamshire who are recruiting several specialist Teaching Assistants to start as soon as possible. All positions are full time on timesheets, via the agency in the first instance with the opportunity to secure a permanent contract for the right candidates. The school is located across 2 sites, catering for 200 pupils aged 5-19 years old, with SEMH and other SEN. As well as offering students an engaging curriculum, they also work hard to develop communication and social skills. The school is in a state-of-the-art building, offering a wealth of resources to both students and pupils. Shortlisted candidates must have previous SEND experience, especially with SEMH. Your experience will ideally be in a professional capacity; however, they will consider candidates who have personal experience with SEND. As a Teaching Assistant you will be working in a class of 4-9 pupils providing 1:1 and whole class support. Classes are generally formed based on age groups, however there will be varying abilities, with some students being non-verbal. A working knowledge of PECs and Makaton is desirable. Regardless of which class you are placed in, all staff must be prepared to complete personal care. Successful applicants are caring, calm and pro-active with a keen interest in SEND.
