Are you a qualified teacher or a highly experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with complex needs? This is a rare opportunity to make a meaningful, one-to-one impact on a child’s life. Academics is seeking a dedicated, nurturing, and resilient tutor to work with a child with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and Autism.
Responsibilities
- Deliver individualised, sensory-led learning tailored to the child’s needs
- Create a safe, calm, and engaging learning environment
- Support emotional regulation, communication, and engagement
- Work closely with families, professionals, and Academics’ support team
- Sessions may take place in the home or alternative provision
Who We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher (QTS/QTLS) or exceptionally experienced Teaching Assistant with a strong SEND background
- Proven experience with PMLD and/or Autism and SEMH
- Strong behaviour management and trauma-informed practice
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Confidence adapting learning in highly personalised ways
- A genuine commitment to inclusive education
