Specialist SEND Learning Support Assistant – Chelmsford, Essex

Specialist SEND (special education & complex needs) learning support assistant role is available at a Good Ofsted rated mainstream school in Chelmsford. The school actively recruits psychology or criminology graduates and experienced SEN behaviour support workers.

Contract details

Long-term contract (12 months, with the view of going permanent)
Possibility of a permanent contract from August 2026 for the right candidate
£88‑£105 per day (weekly pay)
ASAP start
Free onsite parking

Role purpose

Provide individualised support to children with complex needs, using restorative practices and behavioural support strategies.

What we are looking for:

Enthusiastic and patient candidates
Works well within a team and is flexible
Level 3 qualification or higher
Graduates in psychology or criminology desirable
Good education background
Excellent communication skills
Experience in SEN
