Academics are proud to be working in close partnership with a specialist SEMH provision in the Canterbury area, seeking an experienced and inspiring Specialist SEN Teacher to support pupils who require a personalised, trauma-informed and nurturing approach to learning. This is a hugely rewarding opportunity for a Teacher who thrives in a small, supportive setting where strong relationships, consistency and emotional understanding sit at the heart of every success. You will have the chance to transform lives, rebuild confidence and help pupils rediscover a love for learning in an environment that truly values your skills.
About the role:
- Teaching small classes of pupils with SEMH needs
- Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons
- Implementing and supporting individual behaviour and support plans
- Creating a safe, positive and structured learning environment
- Working collaboratively with support staff, therapists and the wider SEN team
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
- Has experience working with SEN / SEMH / challenging behaviour
- Is calm, resilient and emotionally intelligent
- Has strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- Is committed to long-term impact and relationship building

- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) – Essential
- Excellent on-site training, support and CPD is provided to ensure safeguarding of all students
- £170 – £260 per day, Mon-Fri, 08:30 to 15:30, PAYE, Term time only
- You MUST have right to work in the UK in order to apply – no Visa sponsorship
