Role
A school that caters for students with special educational needs is looking for a Classroom Assistant to help motivate and engage the children, monitor their academic and emotional progress, and nurture their love for learning.
This is an exciting role where no two days are the same and where every day brings something new.
Responsibilities
As a Special Needs Classroom Assistant, you will work closely with a small class of 8 students. This will include preparing learning materials, supporting the class teacher, creating a fun and engaging learning environment for the students, and ensuring everyone is achieving.
The school caters for both primary and secondary age students who have a range of complex additional needs. This includes autism, attention deficit disorder, learning difficulties, mental health needs and physical disabilities. You will therefore need to be proactive and be able overcome any challenges with resilience. Personal care and behaviour management will be required, though you will receive training on this if you don\βt have prior experience.
