Academics are seeking experienced Special Needs Assistants to join our team to work in our clients' Mainstream Primary School. As a Special Needs Assistant, you will play a key role within the classroom, within smaller groups of pupils & 1:1 sessions where required.

Working with Academics:

  • Permanent part-time & full-time vacancies
  • Daily supply work from £90 per day
  • Competitive pay for contract and permanent roles (MPS/UPS scale depending on experience)
  • Opportunities to work in a variety of primary settings across Southampton

We are looking for someone who:

  • Supports pupils with SEND, including using non-verbal communication
  • Puts children first and can create clear structure
  • Is confident working in a specialist provision
  • Stays calm under pressure
  • Has experience supporting children with social/communication needs (ideally 1:1)
  • Is calm, firm, adaptable and willing to learn
  • Can respond to children’s emotional needs
