Academics are recruiting on behalf of a small SEN school on the outskirts of Southampton in Dibden/Hythe which caters for children with autism and other associated needs, aged 4 β 11 years. If you are unable to drive, the school provides pick up and drop off to the local bus stops at Dibden roundabout and TESCO Superstore in Applemore.
They are a warm and nurturing school who use best practice strategies and interventions to deliver highly individualised learning for their pupils. They love to celebrate the progress each child makes both academically and emotionally.
They are looking for a caring, engaging and experienced Special Needs Assistant to work in their school in Dibden/Hythe on a long term, possible temp to perm basis. This would also be suited to someone who has worked in nurseries/early years as lots of activities are floor based/messy play/sensory etc.
The successful Special Needs Assistant will be required to work with children with autism on a 1:1 and small group basis. Experience of working in an SEN school would be an advantage, although not essential. You must have experience of working in a school/nursery/care setting with children and young people. You will be required to assist with personal care duties.
This is such a lovely little school where everyone works as a team. There is no hierarchy which creates a warm and happy environment to work in.
As a result, if you were successfully taken on permanently, you are able to work 4 days a week but paid for 5! This is for all team members who have been employed at the school a minimum of 6 months.
If you are an experienced Special Needs Assistant and live in or are able to commute to Dibden/Hythe for work, please apply by sending a copy of your up to date CV via the link.
