Special Education Needs Teaching Assistant – Southend-on-sea, Essex We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Needs Teaching Assistant to join a wonderful school in Southend-on-sea on a long-term basis. There is the possibility of this role becoming permanent for the suitable candidate. ** Special Education Needs Teaching Assistant ** Education and training ** Southend-on-sea, Essex ** £83-£100 per day ** January start ** Long-term (possible permanent) contract ** Supportive Headteacher and SLT ** Fantastic experience to be gained ** Graduate and experienced TAs are welcome to apply ** Great career progression opportunities As a Special Education Needs Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who have a range of disabilities and learning difficulties, helping them to reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities: Work one-to-one with students with special education needs, supporting them in their learning and development Provide additional support to students in class, ensuring that they have access to the curriculum Help to create and implement individual education plans (IEPs) for students with special education needs Work with other members of staff to ensure that students’ needs are met and that they are fully integrated into the school community Liaise with parents and carers to provide regular updates on students’ progress and to ensure that their needs are being met at home as well as at schoolEssential Qualifications and Experience: Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent Experience working with students with special education needs Knowledge of a range of special education needs, including autism, dyslexia, and ADHD Good communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and carers Ability to work as part of a team and to use your initiative to support students’ learning and developmentDesirable Qualifications and Experience: Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent Experience working with students with physical disabilities Experience of using assistive technology to support learningWe offer a competitive salary, training and development opportunities, and a supportive working environment.
