Key Responsibilities of an SEN Intervention Teaching Assistant
- Targeted Intervention: Deliver one-to-one or small group support tailored to the students' specific needs—whether they are related to learning, social development, or behaviour.
- Lesson Adaptation: Assist in planning and delivering lessons or activities that are accessible, engaging, and adapted to each student's individual learning style and pace.
- Monitoring & Feedback: Track students' progress and regularly share observations with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure effective support is in place.
- Emotional Support: Create a safe, nurturing environment that encourages emotional resilience, confidence, and independence.
- Collaborative Support: Work as part of a wider team—including teaching staff, SENCO, and parents—to implement consistent strategies that promote development and inclusion.
