Academics are recruiting for a Site Assistant to join a supportive and dedicated premises team based in Slough. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and reliable individual to take pride in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming school environment. As a Site Assistant in Slough, you will be an integral part of the school community, ensuring that all areas of the site are well maintained and ready to support effective teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Site Manager with the daily maintenance and smooth running of the school site.
- Carry out minor repairs, general maintenance, and decorating tasks.
- Open and close the premises, ensuring site security at all times.
- Monitor heating, lighting, and alarm systems, ensuring they are functioning efficiently.
- Support with health and safety checks, fire alarm testing, and record keeping.
- Undertake cleaning, site presentation, and grounds maintenance duties.
- Work flexibly to support school events, lettings, and out-of-hours activities as needed.
- Contribute to a positive and safe learning environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
Person Specification
- Hands-on and practical, with good general maintenance and DIY skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

- Previous experience as a Site Assistant, caretaker, or within a facilities/maintenance role is desirable but not essential.
