Academics, a local education agency, are hiring Special Needs Teaching Assistants for Primary Schools across South Yorkshire. Full and part-time roles are available, including flexible supply roles. The positions are set to start after Christmas in January 2026 or after half term for the right candidates.

The role is temporary and involves working across Primary schools in Sheffield.
About the Role:
- Support class teachers, promoting students' independence and wellbeing.
- Assist with daily routines and personal care.
- Encourage social engagement and support activities.
- Play a vital role in enriching the lives of the people we support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support based on individual needs and EHCP.
- Encourage and participate in meaningful activities, both in the home and the community.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with local Primary clients of Academics.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with the team.
About You:
- Kind, patient, and understanding.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine interest in working with individuals with Autism.
- Experience in working with children and in a school environment is needed.
- Preferably hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Cache Level 3 qualification.
- Enhanced DBS needed (or willingness to obtain one).
