A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Keynsham is currently seeking a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including SEMH, learning difficulties, and behavioural challenges. The school is committed to providing high-quality, tailored support while ensuring pupils remain fully included in mainstream education.

In this role, you will work with class teachers and the SENCO to support pupils both in and out of the classroom. This may include providing 1:1 support or working with small groups, helping pupils access the curriculum, develop emotional regulation strategies, and build confidence and independence.

Salary: £85 – £95 per day • Status: Full-Time – Term Time Only • DBS: (or willingness to apply) • ASAP Start

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support or small group support to pupils with additional needs to access the curriculum.
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation, confidence, and independence within the classroom and elsewhere in the school.
  • Collaborate with class teachers and the SENCO to plan and implement tailored support.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Experience supporting children with SEMH or behavioural needs.
  • A genuine passion for supporting pupils in a mainstream setting.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly and professionally.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced school environment.
