SEN Teaching Assistant – Stroud (Year 1 1:1 Support)

A welcoming and close‑knit village primary school in Stroud is seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil. This role starts as soon as possible as soon as background checks and safeguarding is complete.
You will be supporting a non‑verbal child with Autism, helping them feel safe, understood, and engaged throughout the school day. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCo, you will implement tailored strategies to support learning, communication, and social development in a calm and nurturing environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will
- Have experience supporting children with Autism and/or non‑verbal communication (school or care setting)

- Be confident using visual supports, routines, and alternative communication strategies (or eager to learn)
- Hold GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or equivalent)
- Have a genuine passion for helping young learners reach their full potential
