We are recruiting a SEN School Assistant to join a welcoming special school in Barking and Dagenham. This role is to work as a Learning Support Assistant in a special school, supporting pupils with additional needs and contributing to positive education and training outcomes.
As a SEN School Assistant, you will provide classroom and one-to-one support, helping learners access education and training in Barking and Dagenham. On a daily basis, you will support pupils during lessons, help them understand tasks, and encourage engagement with learning activities.
The SEN School Assistant will work closely with teachers and support staff to deliver high-quality education and training in a nurturing special school environment. This includes following individual education plans, adapting resources, and supporting pupils with communication, social development, and emotional regulation.
Day-to-day responsibilities will also include assisting with personal care where required, supporting pupils during break times and transitions, promoting positive behaviour, and ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
