SEN Classroom Assistant – Maidenhead

An excellent opportunity has become available for a classroom support assistant supporting SEN children in a school in Maidenhead. This is a great position to gain some hands on experience working directly with vulnerable students.

About the role

These young students struggle with trauma, anxiety, depression, autism, ADHD and various other developmental disorders and need classroom support to help them achieve their academic goals. These young people need someone who can facilitate a positive and safe environment for them to learn and grow whilst building on their self- esteem.

Responsibilities

Your daily duties will vary day to day, however your general duties will involve helping children manage and cope with their emotions and mental health whilst also aiding their learning. You will be instrumental in helping these children with their academic milestones. The role would suit someone who is resilient and confident in managing behaviour. You will also need to be proactive and be able to adapt to the needs of the child or children you will be working with.

Qualities / Requirements

Within this role, it is important that you are resilient, patient, understanding and approachable for you to be supportive to the child. It is vital you have an understanding of safeguarding and understand that any concerns need to be reported correctly for the best interest of the child.

Experience working with vulnerable children is desirable but not essential. Those with a background in a related field will be considered.
