SEMH Teaching Assistant – Portsmouth Learning Support Assistants required – SEMH – ASAP start! Social, emotional and mental health needs Academics are recruiting on behalf of an alternative provision in Cosham which to pupils who are unable to attend mainstream school due to Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and additional complex needs. A number of students also have a range of additional needs and therefore many of them have an EHCP in place. SEMH Teaching Assistant – Portsmouth You will be required to support pupils on a 1:1 and/or on a small group basis to help nurture the long-term personal and academic needs of the students, helping to build their self-esteem and give them the confidence to face new challenges. Student’s needs are met in a small, nurturing environment with a highly differentiated curriculum and exceptional student-staff relationships. The role is ideal with someone who has already had experience of working in an SEMH or SEN school, or on a 1:1 basis with children with challenging behaviours. This role is on a full-time, term-time basis and they are looking for experienced Learning Support Assistants to join their team ASAP. This will begin as an on-going, long term contract with potential to turn permanent.
