Location: Wickford, Essex
Hours: 8:30am-3:30pm (Monday to Friday)
Contract: Long-term to permanent
Pay: £88-£100 per day
Start: Role starting Immediately
Training: Excellent training provided | Onsite parking
Role Details
Academics is currently seeking dedicated SEN Support Workers to join a specialist school in Wickford. You’ll be supporting students with a wide range of additional needs, including:
- Physical disabilities, severe learning difficulties (SLD), and profound multiple learning difficulties (PMLD)
- Autism, moderate learning difficulties (LD), dyslexia, and dyspraxia
- Sight and hearing impairments
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personalised support for students, including assistance with mobility, feeding, and changing where required
- Support pupils’ learning, communication, and social development
- Adapt approaches to meet individual learning and care needs
- Build a nurturing, safe, and positive environment where all students can thrive
- Engage learners in fun, creative ways — a drama or playful background is always a plus
Ideal Candidate
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (school or care background welcomed)
- Comfortable with personal care and routine-based support
