Academics is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school supporting young people aged 16-19 with complex needs, starting February 2026. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to work in a setting focused on preparation for adulthood, independence, and life skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support to students aged 16-19 with complex SEN
  • Support learning programmes focused on functional skills, independence, communication, and emotional regulation
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver consistent, individualised support plans
  • Promote positive behaviour, confidence, and independence using calm, trauma-informed approaches
  • Support students with personal care and daily living skills where required
