Primary PRU Teaching Assistants Needed!

Academics are seeking to appoint several PRU teaching assistants to work in Primary Pupil Referral Units across Birmingham.

The PRUs are located in North and South Birmingham and cater for primary aged pupils who have been excluded from their mainstream school.

Experience in a similar setting is highly essential as working in a Primary PRU is a very demanding and challenging role that requires strength, determination, and excellent behaviour management.

Children in the PRU are aged between 5 and 11 years old and have behavioural difficulties. Some of the children are diagnosed with ADHD or ASD.

To be considered for this role:

  1. You must have a Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent.
  2. You must have a minimum of 6 months experience in schools.
  3. You must have experience working with children with SEND.
  4. You must have strong behaviour management skills.

Team Teach is highly desirable but not essential.
