Academics are working in partnership with a small, welcoming primary school - situated in Potters Bar - within a friendly local federation to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teaching assistant who is ready to take the next step in their career, within a supportive, nurturing, and forward-thinking school environment. The HLTA role:
- As an HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school.
- Responsibilities will include:
- Working closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support high-quality teaching and learning
- Leading and monitoring targeted interventions and evaluating pupil progress
- Supporting, directing, and guiding other teaching assistants
- Working with individuals and small groups of pupils, including those with SEND, to raise attainment and promote independence
- Delivering lessons and leading learning activities under the direction of teaching staff
- Contributing to a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
The ideal HLTA will:
- Have experience supporting pupils with a range of needs, including SEND
- Be proactive, adaptable, and able to work independently using initiative and creativity
- Thrive in a small, collaborative team environment and demonstrate flexibility and a positive sense of humour
- Possess strong communication and organisational skills
- Able to commute to Potters Bar
