Performing arts Technician / Theatre Technician- London
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for school/college/venue productions, concerts, and events.
- Operate, maintain, and set up sound, lighting, staging, and AV equipment.
- Assist with stage management and backstage operations.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintain equipment, stock, and technical areas to a high standard.
- Support students and staff in using technical equipment where appropriate.
Key Requirements
- A high level of technical theatre skills, including rigging, focusing and programming lighting, use of microphones and QLab and ideally some set building.
- Experience of working as a theatre technician,
- Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- High levels of digital literacy.
- The resilience, drive, strength of character, and a sense of humour and perspective to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding and ambitious environment.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a theatre/production environment.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends when required.
Desirable (but not essential)
- Relevant qualifications in technical theatre or production arts.
- Experience working in an educational or community theatre setting.
- Significant experience of working as a theatre technician, ideally acquired in a high-performing school environment.
