Part time Teaching Assistant
Location: Bexleyheath
Start date: 6th November until Christmas (maternity cover) with possibility of extending to July 2026
Contract: Part time (Thursdays and Fridays), Temporary
Salary: £90-£95 day rate
Are you passionate about supporting children’s learning and development? Do you want to make a meaningful impact in the classroom? We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a school in Bexleyheath on a maternity cover contract until Christmas, with the possibility of an extension through to July 2026.
Responsibilities
- Supporting teaching staff in delivering engaging lessons
- Assisting with classroom management and pupil behaviour
- Working with pupils who need additional support, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Helping prepare learning materials and classroom resources
- Encouraging and motivating students to achieve their potential
What We’re Looking For (Qualifications and Attributes)
- Experience working with children or in a school setting (desirable but not essential)
- Knowledge of or interest in behaviour management strategies
- Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (desirable but not essential)
- A positive, patient, and caring attitude
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Adaptability to work across different age groups and classroom settings
- Up-to-date safeguarding training or willingness to complete it
