Job Title: Outreach Tutor
Location: High Wycombe

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant, Tutor, or Support Worker ready to take the next step in your career? Academics are recruiting an Outreach Tutor in High Wycombe to work with a small caseload of disengaged or vulnerable learners who require personalised, community-based educational support.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver bespoke academic and pastoral sessions to young people who are currently unable to access mainstream education.
  • Work in learners\\\’ homes, libraries, community centres, and other local settings.
  • Help students regain confidence, overcome barriers to learning, and make progress towards reintegration into school or alternative provisions.
  • Maintain resilient and adaptable support, with strong behaviour management skills.
  • 1:1 teaching and the ability to tailor instruction to individual learning styles.
  • Support the learner in flexible, one-to-one environments to achieve meaningful outcomes.
  • Receive full training and ongoing support from the client.

Qualifications and Attributes

  • Experience as Teaching Assistant, Tutor, or Support Worker is desirable.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and passionate about supporting young people with additional needs.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to work 1:1.
  • Ability to tailor teaching to individual learning styles.
  • Comfortable working in outreach settings such as learners\\\’ homes and community venues.
