Are you ready to embark on an extraordinary journey in education? If so, join our dynamic team in a lovely specialist school in Maidenhead. This amazing school is looking for a Mental Health Worker to join them starting ASAP!
Your role as a Mental Health Worker will involve supporting the class teacher with general class duties and helping prepare lesson materials. You will also support the students with their general workload as well as with their intervention plans designed to support their mental health needs. This will look like providing 1:1 support, encouraging emotional regulation, and assisting during lessons.
Your day as a Mental Health Worker will look like this:
- Supporting the students with their mental health, helping them to process and understand their emotions.
- You may provide support in small groups or 1 to 1.
- You will work alongside the class teacher to create a safe and engaging learning environment where students can flourish and meet all their goals.
- Helping to deescalate any high emotions and help students to regulate.
- You will also help the class teacher prepare lesson materials and keep the classroom tidy.
The successful Mental Health Worker will:
- Be confident.
- Have a compassionate and positive personality.
- Be proactive and take initiative.
- Have good problem-solving skills.
- Be able to deescalate heightened emotions.
- Have an enhanced DBS or be willing to apply for one.
- Have an understanding of the importance of mental health support.
