Salary: £85 – £100 per day

Are you a Sports Science, Sports Coaching, or Physical Education graduate looking to build experience in mental health or special education? A specialist SEMH school in Oxford is seeking a dedicated and proactive Mental Health Assistant - Sports Graduate to support young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is an excellent opportunity to use your coaching, motivation, and communication skills in a rewarding and impactful role. You will work closely with therapists, counsellors and psychologists, making a genuine difference to students’ lives while gaining valuable experience for future careers in teaching, youth work, therapy, or educational psychology.

The Role:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs
  • Encourage engagement through structured, practical and physical activities
  • Assist in implementing behaviour and learning plans
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic support

Ideal Mental Health - Sports Graduate:

  • Degree in Sports Science, Sports Coaching, PE or a related field (or relevant experience)
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Resilient, calm under pressure, and confident supporting young people
