Would you like to build your experience working with Complex Needs and work alongside trained therapists, counsellors and psychologists?

An outstanding specialist school for children with Social and Emotional Mental Health Needs based in Headington are looking for a bright and enthusiastic Mental Health Assistant to support children with behaviour and mental health issues. Ideally the Mental Health Assistant will be a Graduate – relevant degrees include Psychology, Counselling or Criminology but other subjects will also be considered! A degree is however not a necessity. Candidates with relevant experience will also be considered! The SEN School is in Headington and the role is full-time starting ASAP or in September 2024. The SEN children are aged 4 to 11 and require consistent, ongoing support in order to ensure they have the highest quality of care and child-centred support.

This is a FANTASTIC opportunity for a Mental Health Assistant to work alongside the therapists and psychologists based on-site at school. You will be mentored and have the opportunity to shadow sessions and learn from them. Plus you will gain invaluable experience working with Special Needs and Mental Health issues. This is a great opportunity for an aspiring educational or occupational psychologist, therapeutic support worker or SEN teacher.
